Korean War to Formally End If New Treaty Signed

The AP has reported that North Korea has proposed a new treaty that would formally end the Korean War. The 1950-1953 War ended in a truce that technically left the War ongoing.  North Korea has acquired nuclear weapons which it claimed it needed for its own safety but has recently claimed to be more open to talking with members of the  international community.
