Anti-Government Protesters Arrested in Iran

Seven people were arrested in Tehran on Saturday for their ties to anti-government protests in Iran. The director of Radio Farda referred to the arrests as part of the “crackdown on journalists in Iran.”

According to Iran’s state-run station Press TV, two of the individuals arrested were agents of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency. Press TV added that the seven people arrested were planning to “stoke unrest and violence” this coming week, as Thursday will be the 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution in Iran.
