Hasan charges announced

Army officials have announced that Major Nidal M. Hasan will be charged with premeditated murder in last week’s killing of 12 soldiers and a civilian at Fort Hood. An army psychologist who is suspected of having links to militant Islamist elements, Hasan will be tried in a military court for the mass shooting. Thus far, Hasan has refused to give statements to police or the FBI, but has retained counsel.
