Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s leader, called the United States a threat to the world when announcing the group’s new “manifesto” in a televised speech on Monday. During this speech, Nasrallah called upon countries to “liberate Jerusalem” and stated “American terrorism is the source of every terrorism in the world.” Hezbollah, the Lebanese political party considered a terrorist group by the U.S. and Israel, was described by Nasrallah as a “resistance” force, rather than a terrorist organization. Also in this manifesto, Nasrallah praised Hezbollah’s main supporters, Iran and Syria, and discussed domestic issues, calling for a government that provides for its citizens, works to strengthen the role of women, and gives human rights to Palestinians living in Lebanon.
