Interagency interrogation teams were approved last week by the President. Interrogations have begun. Interrogators from the CIA, the Department of Defense, and the FBI are to collect information on suspects before any arrests or interrogations begin. There will be a pre-authorized interrogation strategy for each suspect. Interrogation strategies are to remain within the boundaries prescribed under the Army Field Manual. However, protocols remain a developing aspect of the new teams. Issues like the necessity of Miranda warnings for terror suspects are still being debated in Congress.
