Israel Claims Gazans Tried to Launch Rockets Days After Hamas Agreement on Ceasefire

The Israeli Air Force launched an attack on Friday against a target in Gaza, claiming that it was thwarting an attempted rocket attack against Israel. Four Palestinians were wounded in the attack, from groups not aligned with Hamas, but Israel says it is holding Hamas responsible for the attacks. The agreement signed last week between Israel and Hamas had included an assurance by Hamas that various militant groups in Gaza had all agreed to the ceasefire. The ceasefire is part of negotiations for a prisoner exchange, including Staff Sgt. Gilad Shalit, an Israeli soldier, in exchange for hundreds of Palestinians.
