In the wake of Mullah Baradar’s capture, Secretary of State Clinton described the operation’s success as being illustrative of a new degree of Pakistani-U.S. cooperation in the ongoing conflict against violent extremism. Secretary Clinton expressed “appreciation for the increasing cooperation between the United States and Pakistan,” and added that “it is something that I personally believe is in the best interest of both of our countries.” She added that while she was reluctant to provide specific details of the cooperation, she said that “it is increasing, and it is very valuable.”
